Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the Crossroads Community Association website or services.
This is the User Agreement for the Crossroads Community Association website (the “Website”), which is owned and operated by Crossroads Community Association (“CCA,” “us,” “our,” or “we”). This Agreement is a binding legal agreement between you and CCA. Your use of the Website is subject to the terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement and our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, you may not access the services made available through the Website or register an account.

1. Changes to These Terms
CCA reserves the right to revise these Terms of Service at any time, without prior notice, by posting the updated Agreement here and revising the “Effective Date” above. You will be bound by any revised Agreement if you continue to use the Website after such revisions are posted. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
2. Description of Services
Crossroads Community Association is a nonprofit community organization serving Detroit’s northeast corridor. Through the Website, CCA provides services including:
- A directory of member block clubs and community organizations, including club information, events, and leadership.
- Community event listings and notifications.
- A community newsletter and subscription service.
- A community gallery documenting CCA programs and activities.
- Resources and information for residents in CCA’s service area.
- Membership registration and user account management.
- Donation facilitation through CCA’s fiduciary partner, Rescue MI Nature Now, Inc.
3. Age Requirement
This Website is intended solely for users who are thirteen (13) years of age or older. Any registration, use of, or access to the Website by anyone under 13 is unauthorized and in violation of these Terms. By using the Website, you represent and warrant that you are 13 or older and that you agree to abide by all terms and conditions of this Agreement.
CCA may, in its sole discretion, terminate your account, delete your account information and any content you have posted, and prohibit you from accessing the Website if CCA believes you are under 13 or are otherwise in violation of these Terms.
4. User Accounts
To access certain features of the Website, such as club membership, event notifications, and newsletter subscriptions, you may be required to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify CCA immediately at crossroadsassociation.detroit@gmail.com if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
CCA reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that have been inactive for an extended period, with or without prior notice.
5. User Content
You are solely responsible for any photos, comments, messages, text, or other content that you upload, post, or transmit through the Website (collectively, “User Content”). CCA may, in its sole discretion, review and remove any User Content that violates these Terms, is inappropriate, offensive, illegal, or that may harm the safety or privacy of others.
By posting User Content to the Website, you grant CCA a perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use, reproduce, publicly display, and publish such User Content on the Website or in any other medium that furthers CCA’s community purposes. You represent and warrant that you own all rights to the User Content you submit and have the right to grant this license.
Any questions, comments, suggestions, or feedback you submit to CCA via email or through the Website become the sole property of CCA and may be used for any lawful community purpose without compensation to you.
6. Photography & Media Consent
By creating an account, registering as a member, or using this Website, you acknowledge and agree that Crossroads Community Association may capture photographs and video recordings at CCA events, club activities, and other community programs in which you participate.
CCA may use such photographs and video recordings for non-commercial, community-benefit purposes, including:
- The CCA website, community gallery, and digital publications.
- CCA’s official social media accounts and online communications.
- Grant applications, community reports, and fundraising materials that support CCA’s nonprofit mission.
CCA does not profit from the use of any individual’s likeness. CCA will not sell or license photographs or video recordings to commercial third parties for advertising or commercial purposes.
If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded at a specific CCA event, please notify the event organizer at the time of the event. To request removal of a specific published image or video, contact us at crossroadsassociation.detroit@gmail.com. CCA will review all removal requests in good faith. However, CCA retains the right to keep photos and videos captured in community or public settings, and removal is not guaranteed.
7. Donations & Payment Processing
CCA facilitates donations through its fiduciary partner, Rescue MI Nature Now, Inc. All donation transactions are processed by Rescue MI Nature Now, Inc. and their designated payment processor. CCA is not directly involved in the collection or processing of payment card information, and does not store your full payment details.
CCA and Rescue MI Nature Now, Inc. are separate entities; neither is the agent or employee of the other, and neither is responsible for the actions or performance of the other. CCA expressly disclaims responsibility and liability for all services provided by Rescue MI Nature Now, Inc. in connection with donation processing.
For all donations, you agree that: (1) you will not use an invalid or unauthorized payment method; (2) your donation will be charged to the payment method you provide; and (3) all donations are final and non-refundable unless otherwise required by law.
We encourage you to review Rescue MI Nature Now’s privacy policy and terms regarding how your payment information is handled.
8. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Website for any unlawful, unauthorized, or harmful purpose. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:
- Using the Website for any unlawful, fraudulent, or malicious purpose.
- Uploading or transmitting content that is harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
- Impersonating any person or entity, or falsely representing your affiliation with CCA or any other organization.
- Uploading files that contain viruses, malware, or other harmful software.
- Using automated means (bots, scrapers, spiders) to access or copy content from the Website.
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Website, its servers, or connected systems.
- Harvesting or collecting other users’ information, including e-mail addresses, without consent.
- Uploading or transmitting unsolicited advertising, spam, or chain letters.
- Violating any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
CCA reserves the right to take any lawful action it deems appropriate in response to violations of this section, including suspension or termination of access.
9. Links to Third-Party Websites
The Website may contain links to third-party websites, including partner organizations, city agencies, and social media platforms. CCA does not control or monitor third-party sites and is not responsible for their content, accuracy, policies, or practices. Linking to a third-party site does not constitute an endorsement by CCA. If you navigate from the Website to any third-party site, you do so at your own risk and these Terms no longer apply. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
10. User Disputes
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users of the Website. CCA reserves the right, but has no obligation, to monitor disputes between users and may, in its discretion, take action including suspending or terminating the accounts of users who engage in harmful or disruptive conduct toward others.
11. Privacy
CCA values the privacy of its users and community members. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our practices. By accessing the Website, creating an account, or using any of our services, you consent to CCA’s collection and use of your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You also consent to have your personal data transferred to and processed in the United States.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
Your use of this website is at your sole risk. All content, information, materials, and services on or linked from the website are provided on an “as is” or “as available” basis. CCA expressly disclaims all warranties and conditions, whether implied, express, or statutory, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. CCA makes no warranty that the website or its content is accurate, timely, uninterrupted, virus-free, or error-free.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CCA will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of or inability to use the website, including without limitation damages for loss of data, goodwill, or other intangibles, even if CCA has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Certain state laws do not allow limitations on implied warranties or the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; if these laws apply to you, some or all of the above limitations may not apply.
14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
By using the Website, you agree that the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, will govern these Terms of Service and any dispute arising between you and CCA. Any dispute not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in a court of competent jurisdiction in Detroit, Michigan.
15. Arbitration
Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this Agreement — except for claims seeking temporary, preliminary, or permanent injunctive or equitable relief — shall be settled by binding arbitration in Detroit, Michigan, administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) or a similar arbitration body, and conducted by a sole arbitrator in accordance with the AAA’s Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall be governed by the Federal Arbitration Act. Judgment on any award rendered by the arbitrator may be entered in any court having jurisdiction. Neither party may disclose the existence, content, or results of an arbitration except as required by law.
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Crossroads Community Association, its affiliates, contractors, directors, officers, employees, agents, and successors from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Website; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your User Content; (d) your reliance on any information on the Website; or (e) your fraud, willful misconduct, or violation of applicable law.
17. Miscellaneous
These Terms of Service constitute the entire agreement between you and CCA regarding your use of the Website and supersede any prior agreements relating to the same subject matter. CCA’s failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
